A very interesting post by Beesdak Canada on facebook illustrates the natural bee die off overwinter from thousands of hives. It looks awful as piles in the snow, but could these be converted in to poultry feed or compost?
Bees have a finite lifespan as well as the vagaries of winter to contend with. It is normal for healthy overwintering hives to have a significant dieoff.

We are all looking for ways to avoid the grains – especially soy – in poultry food as its cultivation is so damaging to the soil biome and the wider ecology of so many places that it is grown. Insect proteins are definitely a good source of poultry nutrition if we can find the right ways to cultivate and harvest.
