A lovely day, from sunrise to sunset ..
Very little soil is dug here these days, but there is satisfaction in preparing beds for taking cuttings for making more baby trees this month, along with setting other old weedy beds up for later in the year. Juicy worms were rehomed carefully:)ย
More Living Larders to be given life.. ย ๐ณ๐ฟ๐๐๐
And giving thanks for the slow recovery from fibromyalgia that allows me to be outside working in the sun. Birds are sunbathing too.

old Christmas trees taken in
We are going to be planting and mulching our young hedgerow and copses of trees for some years to come, so will be happy to take old Christmas trees when the decorations come down to add to our chipping piles. It is great for them to be benefiting soils in the decades to come.
The planting commences
Our first of 7 small copses to be planted, with the help of friends. This is a new division between pastures, with a path through from top to bottom. Each fence line has hedgerow planting close to the fence so the growth will come through for sheep to browse. These will also provide shelter and windbreak along with habitat. The underplanting will come later, developing herbaceous layers, creating different opportunities, and supplies for pollinators.
