These runs are not fixed to the houses, but abut closely. They each have lift off roof sections.
Constructed of pre-treated timber frame and 25 mm square 16 gauge weld mesh, with one closed end and one open end to stand against house.
These are ideal for protecting birds from predators, from the weather as it is easy to cover each lid section with plastic, and that would also comply with Avian influenza (bird flu) lockdown requirements.

RUN PANELS


The other run option are our run panels which provide an infinitely flexible variety of options.
Using the same principal as sheep hurdles any number of panels can be linked together to create a run to the required size. The Sections are joined with a skewer bar passed through eyes and pushed into the ground. The run size can be increased using additional panels and skewers.

Standard Panels are 100cm ( 3′ 3″ ) high x 184cm ( 72″) long constructed of pre-treated timber and 25 mm square 16 gauge weldmesh.

Hinged Panels are the same size but fold in half, allowing you to create open corners, different shapes, or as a gate. The Hinged Panel require 3 Skewers, having one in the middle to act as the hinge.

Steel rod fits through corner eyelets, one required for each Standard panel, and two for each Hinged panel.

Bird netting – the easiest way to create an overhead cover to keep birds in and predators out.
Heavy guage nylon net, will stretch to 4 metres wide.
Used to cover run panels or poultry runs.
Will stop poultry flying out of open runs, and deters wild birds from mixing with poultry.

Run tops – timber framed weldmesh covers for a 6 x 6 ft pen (in other words 4 panels made into a square). The tops hinge in the middle so you can lift up and access the pen.
One top will fit a 183cm ( 6′ ) square setup.
A 183cm x 366cm ( 6′ x 12′ } setup would require 2 tops.

A good rule of thumb is to have at least one panel per bird so as to be able to make an area that does not need moving too often and that is not so confining that the birds start bullying each other.

The smaller the run with lots of birds in the quicker they will use the ground up so both the house and run will need moved more frequently. Its best to invest in as many as you can, and you can always add more later.
An advantage of the panels is that for the first moves to fresh grazing you can simply rotate the house and set the panels out in another direction.
