Events I try to attend - with some combination of plants, housing, equipment etc.
Scottish National Rhododendron show which is held at end April / beginning of May in Oban, usually, In 2010 it was cancelled due to the Sudden Oak Disease situation. Haste ye back.
There is the mad frenzy that is the plant sale for the North Connel and District Horticultural Show in the middle of May, which everyone contributes plants and then buys more!]
I would LOVE to think about doing Gardening Scotland [end May] but its a bit daunting. There may be plans afoot for 2010.
I have done Royal Highland Showin the past [third weekend in June] but it got too late for our birds. We tend to be already booked up by then.
Taynuilt Highland Games - third week in July is now the first of the local Highland Games.
Kilmore Games is the 4th Saturday in July and a perennial favourity.
A few local shows are just not worth the time, effort and expense as they have rather slipped away from their roots. Others are, unfortunately, just too far away. I would love to do Inveraray Games and Mid Argyll show but, without
anyone working full time with us we have to set up our stance the night before each time and these are JUST too far away.
The Continental Market are coming to Oban this year for 30th 31st July and 1st and 2nd of August - Rockfield School Oban.
Appin Show is the third Saturday in August - a perfect family agricultural show, with local roots and great activities.
North Connel and District Horticultural Show in Benderloch village here at the end of August.
Dalmally Agricultural show is always the first Saturday of September - a wonderful agricultural show, which is always so well attended.
Rare Breeds Show and Sale has been moved to Stirling now.
There may still be the Scotch and Seafood Festival later in the year in Oban, arrangements to be announced yet.
Here at Kintaline : Local Farmers and Crafters Market - every first and third Thursday of the month, March to Decemberfor producers from Dalmally to Oban, Glencoe to Kilmelford, Lismore and Kerrera.
All our sites, galleries and forums, are hosted with Cyberstrider. We heartly recommend the company and the service, having been with them for more than a decade now. Take a look for yourself.
 | Our Internet provider here is Plusnet, again we have been with them for many many years, even with our weak exchange we get a very reliable service, which just does what we want, without fuss or bother. | |
