3 Hungry Boys TV episode

Last Summer the 3 Hungry Boys joined us to celebrate the Anniversary market .. this month we got to see the results of the filming in Episode 6

Most of the herbaceous cover here is left until sp Most of the herbaceous cover here is left until spring, but it's a great time to relocate perennials to new areas, so some "tidying" happening, with beautiful geraniums planted on to new areas for the bees, dandelions left to flower, and weeds for the locked down hens to play with that will become compost later. 
A few more early bulbs going into this edge to join the snowdrops

Not all food forests are fruit and salads.. or for Not all food forests are fruit and salads.. or for us : early flowers for pollinators: snowdrops and hellebores : pulmonaria (edible for us) coming through : cotoneaster as later pollinators and bird berries (feeding the nature pest control) .. open water and plenty of leaf litter for habitat. 
And all food for the eyes ..you have to smile when you see these wee clumps of first bulbs which are now scattered all over.. more to do next year.

Will be pruning the Salix udensis soon for pegs to Will be pruning the Salix udensis soon for pegs to plant (And sell) .. it's soo early, soo prolific, a wonderfully vigorous bushy willow for hedgerows, for fodder, for habitat. Lots of strappy leaves for browsers to eat, soft branches make easy tree hay and they grow fast. Contact if you would like some pegs to plant this year.
